Interactive Map for Fires in Central Oregon

A live wildfire and terrain map for Central and Eastern Oregon — real burn perimeters, inferred smoke drift, river flows, and animated wind, rendered on real 3D elevation you can tilt, spin, and explore.

Built as a personal challenge and now a working reference build: how much genuinely useful, live information can be layered onto a single map before it stops feeling like a dashboard and starts feeling like a place?

Fire perimeters stream from national incident feeds. Wind data drives an animated particle field that infers likely smoke direction. River gauges report live flow and temperature — flagging water too warm to fish. Beneath it all sits real streaming elevation with satellite imagery, hillshade, and atmosphere, so the terrain reads the way the country actually looks.

The same pattern applies to any territory a business wants to own — a service area, a trail system, a region full of stories worth telling.
